The Freedom Tunnel, the alias of the of Amtrak tunnel that runs up Manhattan’s west side, is one of New York City’s graffiti havens. The tracks, just steps away from eateries and grocery stores on 125th street and 12th ave, lead to artwork contributed by generations of cities taggers. For today’s artists, it’s an experience unlike any other. Reporter Ryan Wallerson made the trip with rookie tagger Resa for her first illegal bomb to see for himself exactly was it is like inside
the mouth of the Freedom Tunnel.

Resa's completed "throw up," a tag of her name. Many times in the graffiti subculture, one's name is the art.
